One of the main challenges was keeping the loft conversion under 50m³, which meant we could apply for a Certificate of Lawfulness rather than go through a full planning application. This constraint influenced the overall design and layout from the start.
Another key consideration was improving the look of the rear elevation at roof level. The client wanted better visual appeal from the outside, while also maintaining a clear, open view over the garden. Balancing this with the budget and the functional needs of the project required careful planning.
